Special-Interest Clubs

Annual Step Show » presented in Gray Chapel during the spring semester

Bishops Chess Club » provides chess information, activities, and tournaments

Bishops Hockey Club » plays ice hockey against other colleges

Campus Programming Board (CPB) » plans campus-wide activities such as novelty acts, bands, comedians, and lecturers (umbrella organization for Coffee Haus and the University Concert Committee)

Circle K » service group that is the college branch of Kiwanis International

Cricket Club » gives those who know or who would like to learn how to play cricket the opportunity (team plays other colleges in the area)

Dance Team » dances at different sporting events

Equestrian Team » competes in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) against other Midwestern universities

Firedogs » ultimate frisbee club (team plays in tournaments)

Gateway » sci-fi, roleplaying, collectible card games, and Japanese anime group (has weekly events and an annual convention)

Mock Convention » held every four years, bringing together students and faculty to organize a presidential convention for the party out of office (students act as delegates, state chairs, and serve on the platform committee)

Outdoor Club » pursues all types of outdoor recreation, including climbing, rafting, hiking, and backpacking

Pet Pals » an on-campus organization that volunteers at the Humane Society of Delaware County. We help train the dogs and socialize the cats to make them more adoptable. We also raise money for various animal welfare organizations and spread awareness on campus about different issues in the animal world.

President's Club » sponsors programs to bring together the entire OWU community (the President's Ball—an all-campus winter dance—and Kids and Sibs weekend during the spring semester)

Rugby Clubs » both men's and women's clubs on campus (teams play other colleges in a league)

Ski Club » promotes socializing with a co-ed group that skis/snowboards at Mad River Mountain (the season runs December through March)

Unity Through Music » once-a-year event presented in the fall that encompasses various types of music with a carnival-type atmosphere during the day and a huge dance held in the Hamilton-Williams Campus Center in the evening (raises money for charity, usually having something to do with music)

Water Polo » co-educational club that plays other colleges
