![]() Concurrent Enrollment OHIO WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY is pleased to continue to offer an educational enrichment option to qualified high school juniors and seniors who live in the central Ohio area. Concurrent Enrollment provides the opportunity for such students to enroll in a regular college course on our campus and use such coursework for college credit. The fee remains $450 per course. Basics Students who are accepted for Concurrent Enrollment will be allowed to register for one course per semester on a space-available basis. High school students thus enrolled in Ohio Wesleyan courses will be expected to conform to all course requirements and deadlines applicable to college students enrolled in those courses. High school students selected for Concurrent Enrollment are not eligible for Ohio Wesleyan-administered financial aid, may not live in campus residential housing nor participate in intercollegiate athletics, intramural or University and Greek organizations. They will be provided with a temporary student parking sticker a temporary identification card. Requirements Since sixteen units of high school work in college-preparatory academic courses is the normal minimum expectation for regular admission to college, students wishing to participate must have completed an appropriate proportion of these courses. In order to be considered for participation, high school juniors will be required to have completed at least nine units and seniors at least thirteen units. Other requirements for acceptance include: a high school grade point average of a least 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale); a rank-in-class within the top 10% of the student’s class; and either an ACT composite score of at least 27 (or PACT score of 24) or a combined verbal and math total SAT score of at least 1200 (or verbal and math PSAT score of 110). In addition, their high school counselor or principal must recommend students. How to Apply Applications for Concurrent Enrollment are available by contacting:
Applications may also be downloaded in PDF format: Application for Concurrent Enrollment (17k PDF*) Applications for the fall semester must be received by June 15; for spring semester, applications must be received by Dec. 1. Students accepted will be given the opportunity to register for courses, subject to available spaces, after regular students have completed registration—usually mid-August for fall semester and mid-November for spring. Summer session courses are not available. Ohio Wesleyan University reserves the right to limit the number of students accepted for Concurrent Enrollment, and such acceptance does not constitute nor later guarantee admission to Ohio Wesleyan as a degree candidate. The student must pay the course fee no later than the first day of the semester and will be responsible for the payment of all textbooks, materials and fees associated with the course.
