The Natural Sciences: Environmental Studies


A S AN ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES major, you’ll incorporate a broad spectrum of interdisciplinary perspectives as you develop your approach to solving environmental problems. You’ll take courses in chemistry, biology, politics and government, botany, geography, and more. You’ll be required to complete an independent study project and encouraged to gain field experience through an internship. Most students also take a second major in a traditional academic discipline, often a biological science, geography, or sociology. Majoring in environmental studies gives you a chance to deal with real-world issues that affect people’s everyday lives and equip you for a variety of satisfying careers.
