The Natural Sciences: Mathematics and Computer Science

T HESE PROGRAMS PREPARE you both for graduate school and for careers in mathematics and computer fields, as well as statistics, business, education, and the natural and physical sciences. Advanced course offerings in math include pure topics such as analysis and abstract algebra, and applied subjects such as statistical models and differential equations.

The computer science curriculum offers advanced courses in algorithms and compiler design as well as courses in database theory, operating systems, computer networking, and artificial intelligence. But all this technical knowledge is only one part of the picture; the Ohio Wesleyan liberal arts tradition places technical expertise into a broader perspective—and that gives you more options after you graduate.

Majors: Computer Science, Mathematics, Mathematics with Statistics Concentration, 3-2 Program in Computer Science/Computer Engineering

Minors: Computer Science, Mathematics

Beyond-the-classroom opportunities: Independent study, directed reading, seminars, special topics. Internships.  Patricia Belt Conrades Summer Science Research Symposium. Association for Computing Machinery, Math Association of America, Pi Mu Epsilon (mathematics honorary society). Contests. Student board.
