The Social Sciences: East Asian Studies

D RAWING UPON THE RESOURCES of various departments and off-campus programs in East Asia, this interdisciplinary program gives you broad background knowledge of the region and a specialization in a specific East Asian country. It also provides you with first-hand experience in China, Korea, or Japan as you study off campus for a semester or more, choosing from five programs at universities in China, two in Japan, and one in South Korea. East Asian Studies majors often decide on careers in international business, education, and journalism. Others may go on to graduate school in the social sciences, humanities, and law.
