Distinguished Achievement Citation

The Distinguished Achievement Citation (D.A.C.) is the Alumni Association's highest honor and is awarded to alumni who demonstrate professional accomplishment and outstanding service to humankind. Ohio Wesleyan Alumni Award

The Ohio Wesleyan Alumni Award is given to alumni who demonstrate outstanding service to Ohio Wesleyan University. You can view the list of honorees, or to nominate someone for this award via the Web, go to the online nomination form.

Honorary Alumni

Honorary Alumni status is conferred upon persons who have exhibited consistent interest in and support of Ohio Wesleyan for a significant period of time. Include the individual's name and your name and contact information as well as the reason(s) why this individual should receive Honorary Alumni status.

Athletic Hall of Fame

The Ohio Wesleyan Athletic Hall of Fame was founded in 1961—one of the first ever in the United States and the first to induct women. The 2008 class induction on October 11 includes:

  • Steve Alexander '93 (Football)
  • Jason Chiero '96 (Men's Soccer)
  • Bob Croft '94 (Men's Basketball)
  • Amy Evans '92 (Women's Basketball)
  • Kevin Finneran '90 (Men's Lacrosse)
  • James "Red" Glancy '29 (Football) - awarded posthumously
  • Ryan Missler '98 (Baseball)
  • Tom Peyton '72 (Football and Lacrosse)
  • Phil Roos '60 (Football)
  • Tracy Scott '97(Womens Lacrosse)

Robert Strimer Honor Award

In 1998, the Hall of Fame selection committee established a new award to honor individuals who have made unusually significant contributions to the field of intercollegiate and professional athletics. This award has been named the Robert Strimer Honor Award, in honor of longtime coach, athletic director, and dear friend, Robert "Bob" Strimer.

  • The first recipient of this award was Thomas A. Butters '60, Emeritus Director of Athletics at Duke University.
  • The 2002 honoree was the Gordin Family: Dick '52, Rich '73, and Doug '78.
  • The 2006 honoree was Gary Schaal '63, Past President of the PGA
  • Don Wedge '51 will receive the honor at Homecoming 2007
