Faculty (Los Profesores)


Carlos Cabrera Morales earned his Ph.D. at the Universidad de Salamanca, where he received the distinguished Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado. He currently serves as Professor on the Faculty of Philology and Academic Advisor for AIFS in Salamanca. He serves also as Assistant Director of the Summer Spanish School at Middlebury College in Vermont (USA), where he teachs spanish grammar since 1990. Professor Cabrera has served on review committees for the D.E.L.E. in Tokyo, and he has taught in a variety of North American programs for undergraduate and graduate American students, and European programs for teachers specializing in Spanish. He is also a teacher in the Master of ELE at the University of Salamanca. In addition to a variety of articles on the history of Spanish and Spanish grammar, Dr. Cabrera is the author of an edition of Observaciones críticas sobre la excelencia de la lengua castellana by A. de Capmany. He is currently working on a History of Spanish Orthography and Gramática Visual del Español.

Dr. D. Santiago González Gómez, nacido en 1947 es Profesor Titular de la Universidad de Salamanca. Imparte docencia de Historia Contemporánea de España, 1808- 2004.

Manolo Pérez López

Professor María Ángeles Pérez López is resident director of the Ohio Wesleyan Program. Mª Ángeles is a professor in the Facultad de Filología Hispánica at the University of Salamanca, and a specialist in Latin American literature. She has lived in Salamanca for many years and has worked with other American study abroad programs. Indeed, we are very fortunate to have Mª Ángeles as our resident director, for she brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our program. Among the many tasks that Mª Ángeles performs are: managing the program budget, placing students with host families and supervising those families, coordinating the orientation period, planning excursions, and arranging extracurricular activities. As resident director, Mª Ángeles is responsible for coordinating program efforts with Professor Julián Arribas.
