Clinical Psychologist and Business Owner
Dr. Alex MacNeil, LLC
Dr. Alex MacNeil is a licensed clinical psychologist and entrepreneur based out of Arlington, Massachusetts. He is the owner of Dr Alex MacNeil, LLC, which is a private practice focused on providing quality therapy to individuals and families in need. He is also the creator and producer of “Mental Health Explained: A Dr. Alex MacNeil Podcast”, which is now on Spotify, iTunes, SoundCloud, and Google Podcasts. He has spent over ten years working with diverse populations in a variety of settings including schools, mental health clinics, and residential treatment centers. Throughout his journey as a psychologist, he has found a deep, profound need for education, discussion, and explanation of mental health resources. He also has a passion for helping youth, families, and adults address issues such as anxiety, adjustment, and depression.
Alex is open to helping Psychology majors and alum from OWU. He would be happy to discuss topics like psychology, career development within the field of psychology, child development, family therapy, and individual therapy. She is also open to conversations regarding graduate school in the field of psychology, and the process of developing a business/private practice. He is open to:
- Presenting to psychology classes in-person
- Conducting a virtual webinar
- Mentoring a student
- Assisting OWU alumni (recent Alumni, or Alumni in transition)
- Participating in OWU events such as speed networking, mock interviewing, panels, etc.
- Participating in virtual alumni networking conversations focused on helping alumni with their professional development
Alex graduated from OWU in 2010 with a degree in Psychology. He was involved in the Student Union of Black Awareness, the Women’s Resource center, and the House of Black Culture.
