Have You Experienced a Crime or Traumatic Event?

We’re Here to Help

The Survivors of Crime Assistance Program (SOCAP) provides students with a centralized point person (the SOCAP Counselor) to confidentially assist student survivors of crime regardless of when the crime has occurred (i.e. survivor of child abuse).  The SOCAP Counselor is here to serve you and help you make informed decisions, not to pass judgement or investigate and is trained and experienced in therapeutic trauma intervention.  Student survivors may request one or more of the following services:

  • EMOTIONAL SUPPORT -   counseling support (on-going individual counseling, evidenced based trauma counseling, and skills workshops)
  • SAFETY PLANNING - assessing for and assisting with establishing a safe environment for recovery
  • REFERRALS - to campus or community resources that can aid in further support and navigating legal system if that is desired
