Important Message Regarding Summer Bridge & COVID-19
Due to difficulties and challenges related to the COVID-19 outbreak, OWU has made the difficult decision to suspend the Summer Bridge Program for this summer. We are exploring other options and avenues to deliver empowering skills and knowledge to first-generation and low-income students closer to the beginning of the school year. We hope to provide more information on these plans soon. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
Empowering Students to Thrive
Ohio Wesleyan University's Summer Bridge Program (SBP) is a three-week, credit-bearing residential experience program designed to equip students with the skills to thrive at OWU. Students will participate in a classroom experience designed to strengthen their quantitative, qualitative, and critical thinking skills, while gaining key insights and resources across the university. The program is open to all incoming first-year students with a focus on first-generation students, low-income students, students of color, and/or LGBTQIA students.
SBP is Completely Free!
Housing, meals, and social activities are completely covered by the Division of Student Success & Engagement. Students and families are only expected to pay for personal items and transportation to campus.
- SBP has been suspended for 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Housing & Meals
Students will live together in one of OWU's unique small housing units and experience OWU life under the mentorship of five upperclass peer mentors. As a participant, you will also have the opportunity to move into your permanent residence hall earlier than the regular move-in date for first-year students. All meals are provided during the program.
