Student Health Services is operated by OhioHealth. The Student Health Center, located on the ground level of Stuyvesant Hall, operates by appointment as a medical care facility for full-time OWU students. Services include, but are not limited to: physical examinations, illness/injury care and follow-up, vaccinations, mental health evaluations, women's health services, STD screenings, health promotion, as well as referrals to area specialists. We also welcome faculty and staff for acute illness visits, minor injuries, and immunizations for travel.

The Student Health Center is not intended to replace primary care providers or specialists. While at OWU, students are encouraged to maintain care and medical management for ongoing conditions with their health care providers from home, if possible.

All students are required to have health insurance. When visiting the OWU Student Health Center, students should bring their medical insurance card, student or legal ID, and a credit card or check for costs associated with their visit. Students will not need to make a copayment for office visits to the Student Health Center. Insurance claims, however, will be submitted for resources outside the clinic, such as X-rays or laboratory tests through outside processing. Some basic medications will be available to students at no cost, including flu shots and common antibiotics. Charges may not be applied to a student's account.

All medical records are strictly confidential and no information is released without written authorization. Medical records are kept for seven years after leaving school, and then destroyed. Requesting any part of your medical records requires written authorization; see our Requesting Medical Records page.
