Technical Director of ICAP Global, Health, Action

Dr. Cecilia Makafu holds a MD degree from University of Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania and a Masters degree in Public Health from Dartmouth University. She has worked in the medical field in the last 10 years specifically on TB/HIV projects, Nutrition, Child Survival and Malaria.

As a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist with PATH(TB/HIV) project and a country research coordinator with HKI in Tanzania, she managed to work with health care providers across the nation on data analysis and utilization. She was also involved in advocacy on policy change on infant feeding at a national and global level. Moreover, she has been working with the Ministry of Health in Tanzania on health system strengthening and published articles in these thematic areas:

Currently, she is the Technical Director of ICAP Global, Health, Action under the management of Columbia University in Tanzania providing technical expertise.
