Interns

OFFICE OF CAREER SERVICES MISSION STATEMENT

To provide career development, planning, and job search assistance to students and alumni by offering resources to help connect theory and practice with meaningful career objectives and by building partnerships with faculty, staff, alumni, parents, employers, and graduate schools. Through individual counseling, creative programming and technological services, we help students to identify and enhance networks and skills necessary to achieve career goals and to become actively engaged in a global society.

Katie earned a B.A. from John Carroll University with a major in Communications. She has over 20 years of experience in non-profit settings, relationship management and advancement leadership. She worked previously at Ohio Wesleyan as the 50th Reunion Program Director and also oversaw the 45th and 55th reunions.

In addition to leading the alumni relations and engagement office, Katie’s responsibilities include oversight of the Ohio Wesleyan Alumni Association and Alumni Board of Directors and providing strategic vision and implementation of meaningful programs for alumni.

MINDY B. AGIN, MS. CPRW

Mindy Agin joined the Office of Career Services at Ohio Wesleyan University as the Assistant Director for Internships and Externships in October of 2016. Prior to joining OWU, Mindy worked for 10 years as a Career Strategist in the Career and Workforce Development Program at Jewish Family Services in Columbus, OH.  Mindy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Judaic Studies and Political Science from Emory University in Atlanta, GA and a Master of Science in Human Resources Management from the Milano Graduate School at the New School for Social Research in NYC, NY.  Mindy is a Certified Professional Resume Writer, a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) and has facilitated numerous career-related workshops on multiple topics including interviewing skills, resume writing, stress and laughter, tools and strategies for successfully navigating a job search.  Her professional interests include career coaching, student empowerment and employer relations.  In her current role, she networks with employers to develop internship opportunities for OWU students, works with alumni to develop externship (job shadowing) experiences and coaches students on internship success strategies.  In Fall 2017, she unveiled a new intern development program to OWU students: “The Bishop Launch Project.”  Mindy and her husband, Eric, live in Gahanna, OH and have three great kids and a lovable rescue dog.

JILL HAYES

Jill joined Career Services as the new Office Manager in September, 2017.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders from St. Cloud State University.  Prior to coming to OWU, Jill worked in several roles at an insurance company, serving as an administrative assistant and claims adjuster.  More recently she was the secretary and co-chair of the events committee of the Columbus Mothers of Twins Club (501c3 pending).  She is a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).  She enjoys being the face of the office, getting to know students, and connecting them to the office’s resources.  Jill enjoys thrifting and sewing, and lives in Delaware with her husband and four children. 


Interns

MAHNOOR ANSARI, SENIOR MARKETING AND PR INTERN, PEER ADVISOR

Mahnoor joined the Office of Career Services as a Peer Advisor in the spring semester of 2017, during her first year at Ohio Wesleyan University. As a junior, she has since taken on the role of Senior Marketing and PR Intern and is excited to fulfill her role. Mahnoor is a Pre-Law and Psychology double major with a minor in Film Studies from Lahore, Pakistan. She is also a member of Tree House, a Small-Living Unit committed to environmentalism and sustainability. 

INGRID HANSON, MARKETING AND PR INTERN, PEER ADVISOR

Ingrid Hanson of Massachusetts is a Junior here at OWU. This is her second year utilizing her passion for working with her fellow students as a Peer Advisor intern at the Office of Career Services. She is an Exercise Science major with a minor in Zoology.

SOPHIA AHMED, MARKETING INTERN AND PEER ADVISOR

Sophia joined the Office of Career Services as a Marketing Intern and Peer Advisor in the fall semester of 2018. Sophia is a Management Economics major with a minor in Accounting from Karachi, Pakistan. She is also an Economics Management Fellow at the Woltemade Center and has a keen interest in the world of Entrepreneurship and loves to cook. 

GABRIELLE CAMPANA, MARKETING INTERN AND PEER ADVISOR

Gabriella is a sophomore at Ohio Wesleyan and joined the Office of Career Services as a Marketing Intern and Peer Advisor in the fall semester of 2018. She is a Neuroscience major, focusing on a career in neurological physical therapy and is eager to increase her professional skills and become knowledgeable in the realm of resumes and career counseling. She is on the Senate in our University's Student Government and is involved in CRU (Christian organization) club, outdoor ministry team, and dance team on campus.
