Interns

OFFICE OF CAREER SERVICES MISSION STATEMENT

To provide career development, planning, and job search assistance to students and alumni by offering resources to help connect theory and practice with meaningful career objectives and by building partnerships with faculty, staff, alumni, parents, employers, and graduate schools. Through individual counseling, creative programming and technological services, we help students to identify and enhance networks and skills necessary to achieve career goals and to become actively engaged in a global society.


Professional Staff

LESLIE J. MELTON, M.S. ED., NCC

Leslie Melton joined the Office of Career Services at Ohio Wesleyan University as the Director in 2008. Prior to joining OWU, Leslie worked in Career Services at Ohio University, and interned in the Counseling and Student Development Center at Kishwaukee College. Leslie received both her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and her Master of Science in Education from Northern Illinois University. Leslie is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). She is also a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), the American Association for Employment in Education (AAEE), the College Student Educators International (ACPA), the Midwest Association for Colleges and Employers (MwACE), and the Ohio Association for Employment in Education (OAEE). Her professional interests include career counseling and coaching, event planning, student engagement, employer relations, and multicultural, international, athlete, and graduate student development.

Leslie enjoys assisting college students in reaching their educational, career, and personal goals.

MINDY B. AGIN, MS. CPRW

Mindy Agin joined the Office of Career Services at Ohio Wesleyan University as the Assistant Director for Internships and Externships in October of 2016. Prior to joining OWU, Mindy worked for 10 years as a Career Strategist in the Career and Workforce Development Program at Jewish Family Services in Columbus, OH.  Mindy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Judaic Studies and Political Science from Emory University in Atlanta, GA and a Master of Science in Human Resources Management from the Milano Graduate School at the New School for Social Research in NYC, NY.  Mindy is a Certified Professional Resume Writer, a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) and has facilitated numerous career-related workshops on multiple topics including interviewing skills, resume writing, stress and laughter, tools and strategies for successfully navigating a job search.  Her professional interests include career coaching, student empowerment and employer relations.  In her current role, she networks with employers to develop internship opportunities for OWU students, works with alumni to develop externship (job shadowing) experiences and coaches students on internship success strategies.  In Fall 2017, she unveiled a new intern development program to OWU students: “The Bishop Launch Project.”  Mindy and her husband, Eric, live in Gahanna, OH and have three great kids and a lovable rescue dog.

JOSH D. LISKO, M.Ed.

Joshua Lisko joined the Office of Career Services at Ohio Wesleyan University as the Career Coach in 2017. Prior to joining Career Services, Josh worked as a Residential Life Coordinator at OWU, and with honors students at the University of Cincinnati. Josh received both his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and his Master of Science in Counseling: Higher Education from Youngstown State University. Josh is a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) and the Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education (NASPA). His professional interests include career counseling and coaching, event planning, student engagement, and student development.  Josh enjoys assisting college students translate their college experiences into career focused points.

JILL HAYES

Jill joined Career Services as the new Office Manager in September, 2017.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders from St. Cloud State University.  Prior to coming to OWU, Jill worked in several roles at an insurance company, serving as an administrative assistant and claims adjuster.  More recently she was the secretary and co-chair of the events committee of the Columbus Mothers of Twins Club (501c3 pending).  She is a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).  She enjoys being the face of the office, getting to know students, and connecting them to the office’s resources.  Jill enjoys thrifting and sewing, and lives in Delaware with her husband and four children. 


Interns

MAHNOOR ANSARI, SENIOR MARKETING AND PR INTERN, PEER ADVISOR

Mahnoor joined the Office of Career Services as a Peer Advisor in the spring semester of 2017, during her first year at Ohio Wesleyan University. As a junior, she has since taken on the role of Senior Marketing and PR Intern and is excited to fulfill her role. Mahnoor is a Pre-Law and Psychology double major with a minor in Film Studies from Lahore, Pakistan. She is also a member of Tree House, a Small-Living Unit committed to environmentalism and sustainability. 

INGRID HANSEN, MARKETING AND PR INTERN, PEER ADVISOR

Hi! My name is Ingrid Hanson and I am a sophomore here at OWU. I travel from my home state Massachusetts to Ohio to study Exercise Science and Zoology. This is my first year working at the Office of Career Services as an intern, and I am excited to explore the world of resumes with you! Over the summer I spent my time volunteering at a horse barn taking care of horses and learning cool massage therapy and chiropractic techniques to use on them, as well as preparing food in a local restaurant.
