The American-Scandinavian Foundation supports study and research in the Scandinavian countries. In 2013, 62 students, professionals, and artists were provided almost $650,000 in total funding.

The American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) offers fellowships (up to $23,000) for research or study in one or more Scandinavian countries for up to one year. Projects should be planned to fall within a one-year time period (summer to summer).

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Be United States citizens or permanent residents.
  • Have completed their undergraduate education by the start of their project in Scandinavia.
  • Have a well-defined research or study project that makes a stay in Scandinavia essential.
