Leana is a licensed professional clinical counselor with supervision designation through the State of Ohio's Counselor, Social Work, and Marriage & Family Therapist Board. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Forensic Psychology from Tiffin University, a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Akron, and a Master's Degree in Public Health from The Ohio State University. Leana has worked with children, adolescents, and adults in outpatient, hospital, and emergency/crisis settings. Her clinical approach is person-centered, collaborative, and draws from a variety of techniques and theoretical orientations to fit a person's unique needs. She also advocates for her clients and works to identify other resources that may further improve their quality of life. Leana believes that a person's strengths, values, and prior experiences can be important tools in learning what works best for them and what they need to reach their goals. She is especially clinically interested in trauma recovery, mindfulness, coping mechanisms, depression, anxiety, and psychosocial development.  

Leana also loves to read, listen to podcasts, be creative, try new restaurants, and travel with family and friends. 

Cheston Gray, MA, LPC

Cheston holds a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health from Capital University. He has experience working within adult and middle school settings. His clinical and professional interests include trauma based therapy, anxiety, depression, and addiction related issues. Cheston believes that counseling needs to be informed by compassion, humanistic understanding of the human condition and that all clients, colleagues, and students need to be appreciated for their inherent dignity, worth and their unique diversity constellation. He believes that all individuals should be empowered to speak up for what they need and that counselors should be social justice leaders who advocate on behalf of underserved populations.

Cheston works from a Gestalt and Logotherapy orientation with an emphasis on mindfulness and holistic wellness. In his free time, Cheston enjoys spending time with family, playing golf, traveling and watching Ohio State Football.

Gabrielle Poliseno, MA, LPCC

Gaby is a Licensed Professional Counselor with specific training in trauma, body image, and recovering from abusive relationships. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Heidelberg University and her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. Gaby has worked with children as young as three and adults as old as 90 in settings ranging from private practice to correctional facilities. Gaby utilizes an eclectic approach to personalize her counseling to each client's needs, strengths, and personality. She especially enjoys utilizing mindfulness-based approaches and nurturing the mind-body connection as well as psychodynamic therapy to understand the impact of early life experiences.

Gaby is a big proponent of self-care! Her favorite means of self-care are boxing, meditating, swimming, hiking, reading, and spending time with her dog.

Vicki S. Blommel, SWA

Vicki is the department Office Manager and has been with the Counseling Services since 2001. She makes the office a friendly, welcoming experience, helps with scheduling, and is the general go-to person for students seeking services. Vicki has 25+ years of experience working in the field of mental health, seven of those years being with HelpLine, Delaware's 24-hour crisis hotline. She is licensed as a Social Work Assistant by the State of Ohio. Vicki finds great satisfaction in her role of assisting Ohio Wesleyan students.

Amanda Fava, MSSA, LISW, PMH-C

Amanda is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) with a Master's Degree in Social Science Administration (MSSA) from Case Western Reserve University and Public Administration (MPA) from Bowling Green State University and undergraduate degrees in Social Work and Psychology from Defiance College.  Amanda has additional clinical training in EMDR, Brainspotting, CBT, DBT, and mindfulness. She specializes in working with youth and adults who are experiencing life transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, those who identify as being a part of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, and working with those with neurodiversity. Amanda is working on training to be an ADHD Certified Clinical Specialist. Amanda uses an eclectic approach and leans on her social work background to work from a strengths-based perspective. In her free time, Amanda enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and playing with her dogs. Amanda volunteers with a few local animal rescues and has two rescued German Shepherds. 

 

Bhudayal "Krishna" Arjune, MA, LPC

Krishna is a Licensed Professional Counselor and obtained his Master's Degree in Counselor Education from The Ohio State University. He is an alumnus of Ohio Wesleyan University, obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. Currently, Krishna is pursuing a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from The Ohio State University. His research interest is in helping Asian American and other minority students succeed in higher education. Krishna has worked in various clinical settings, including a university wellness center, community mental health agency, and private practice. He enjoys working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, addressing concerns related to depression, anxiety, cultural issues, and daily stressors. He utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other treatment modalities, tailored to the individual needs of his clients.

In his free time, Krishna enjoys spending time with family and friends, doing research, fishing, and talking about cars.

Jennifer Trimmer

Jen is a graduate student at Capital University in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. While interning here at OWU, she hopes to help students manage the ups and downs that are part of the undergraduate experience. She is still working on finding her particular theory of practice, but is most interested in mindfulness, somatic therapy, DBT, and IFS. She also plans to become certified in EMDR and strengthen her trauma-informed practice.

For self-care, Jen loves to hike, garden, listen to music and audiobooks, spend time with her dog and cats, and watch movies.
