November Concur Training Dates

The Purchasing Office is offering several sessions for training on Concur Expense, as well as a few options to learn about Concur Travel, AND some lab sessions where you can get help clearing your expenses with a staff member from Purchasing or Accounting in the room to help you.  See specific dates on the calendar below or by clicking here. All of the sessions below will be offered in Corns 109 (unless otherwise noted), and led by our Instructional Technologist, David Soliday, unless noted otherwise. Workshops include lunch for all who register by the evening before the event. Information Services also provides customized group instruction and individual training upon request.

This service, available to students, faculty, academic advisors, and student support staff, streamlines workflow to provide the best service for students while increasing the ability for instructors and advisors to provide feedback or react to student needs.
Wed. 9/19 Noon to 1:00 PM Blackboard Collaborate Ultra Essentials

In January 2018, OWU Blackboard got a whole new look and feel - a more modern, streamlined, and intuitive experience. Come and try it out. Learn where things have been moved to and how things have been consolidated.

Thurs. 9/20 Noon to 1:00 PM Managing Content in Blackboard

Learn how to easily manage course content in Blackboard. Come see how you can create a content collection that is centrally maintained, and preserved through time. Best of all, it can be on your local computer.
Thurs. 9/27 Noon to 1:00 PM Make Your Presentations Powerful, Regardless of Tool

Learn how to teach or present with dynamic engagement with your students or audience, whether you use Apple Keynote, Microsoft PowerPoint, or Prezi. It’s not in the software, but in how you use it. Learn different styles of presentation, and several tips and tricks.  ***Note: This training will be held in Slocum 220.  
Fri. 9/28 Noon to 1:00 PM BigTree CMS

Learn how to manage your department's or program's web presence on our OWU website. Learn or review the basics, such as templates, callouts and other features. These enhance the visual appeal and presentation of essential information in desktop browsers and mobile devices.

Tues. 10/9 Noon to 1:00 PM Ad-Astra for Room Reservations

Come and learn how to use schedule.owu.edu to request a room reservation, along with how to filter calendars by building or room to see if they're available.
Wed. 10/17 Noon to 1:00 PM Self-Service for Faculty & Advisors

OWU Self-Service is our Student Information System, used for registration, enrollments, and grades. This session will go over class lists, student registration, entering grades, and various advising tasks. It'll be good for all new faculty, as well as anyone who needs a refresher.
Tues. 10/23 Noon to 1:00 PM Introduction to Degree Audit

Introducing Degree Audit, our online degree planning and audit system. Students and advisors may use it for individual degree audits, “what if?” scenarios, and student planning. This session will introduce its basics and answer other questions you may have about it.
Thurs. 10/25 Noon to 1:00 PM Introduction to Google Forms

Google Forms, part of our OWU BishopApps suite of online collaboration tools, is easy to use for web forms and online surveys or quizzes. You can use an OWU logo or your own image, choose from a bunch of question types with page branching or question skip logic. It's responsive, so it works well on your mobile devices. Responses are neatly and automatically organized into summary charts and graphs. Come and learn how to use it alone or with collaborators.
Mon. 10/19 Noon to 1:00 PM Introduction to Google Hangouts Chat

Hangouts Chat, part of our OWU BishopApps suite of online collaboration tools, makes it easy for teams to be able to get their work done in one place. From direct messages to group conversations, Chat helps teams collaborate easily and efficiently. It's integrated with BishopMail and the OWU Directory. Plus, you can start a conversation on one device and continue it on another that you're signed into.
Tues 11/13 Noon to 1:00 PM Sharing and Collaborating with OWU BishopApps

Come and learn how to take advantage of the communication and collaboration features that are integrated throughout OWU BishopApps: BishopMail, Hangouts, Contacts, Calendar, and more.
Thurs. 11/15 Noon to 1:00 PM Introducing the New BishopMail

Stay composed--a fresh, updated interface for OWU BishopApps Mail on the web is here. Do more without leaving your Inbox: the new view helps you get more done by presenting action buttons--like Mark as Read--and attachment links in the Inbox view. You can also hide the folder list to give you more room to work with your mail.
Tues. 11/27 Noon to 1:00 PM WordPress for Websites and More

WordPress is open source software you can use to create a beautiful website, blog, or app, for a course, club, or for your own professional web presence. 28% of the web uses WordPress, from hobby blogs to the biggest news sites online. This intro session will get you started and up to speed.
