Students must reside or attend a school in one of the nine central Ohio counties: Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin, Licking, Madison, Marion, Morrow, Pickaway, or Union. Students must currently be enrolled in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade and have test scores in at least the 95th percentile on standard measures of academic achievement/ability, or otherwise have demonstrated exceptional talent, creativity or leadership. The OWjL program welcomes qualified students from all racial and religious backgrounds.
How are Applications scored and students selected?
Applications are scored and evaluated by two OWjL Board members for content, student’s essay, recommendations and school scores. Students are selected according to the score awarded to them and the availability of space in that week’s camp. A waiting list is developed, and if any accepted student cannot attend, the students on the wait list are moved up.
You do not need to be invited to apply if you qualify.
