The search is underway to find the next president of Ohio Wesleyan University, succeeding President Rock Jones, who announced he will retire at the end of the 2022-23 academic year.

Selecting a president is one of the most important responsibilities of the Board of Trustees, and to facilitate this process, the Board of Trustees has appointed a search committee to conduct the search and has engaged executive search firm Academic Search to serve as a strategic partner in the process.

OWU Community Input

The search committee welcomes and invites input from the OWU community. Academic Search held on-campus listening sessions May 31-June 1 and will return for additional sessions August 25-26.

Ohio Wesleyan University community members will be invited to participate in a confidential survey about the search for the next president. Feedback received will help inform the search, including the search profile, which outlines the preferred professional experiences, essential values, and personal characteristics of OWU’s next president. Distribution of the survey will begin via email at the end of July, and the deadline to submit the survey will be in mid-August.
