Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal law that prohibits sex discrimination (sexual violence and gender-based harassment) in education programs and activities that receive federal funds.

Under Title IX, Ohio Wesleyan’s responsibilities include 1) adopting and publishing Title IX sexual-harassment grievance procedures, 2) designating Title IX coordinators to investigate complaints, and 3) training faculty, staff, coaches, security officers, and resident advisors about Title IX.
