Fall 2015

Class will meet from 10:00 - 11:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

There is no textbook to purchase. We will be reading primary literature and will make use of the library collection of useful monographs and reference sources.

On September 15, 2015, we will visit the Ohio Division of Geological Survey Core Repository at Alum Creek Park, for a demonstration of shallow seismic data acquisition, a presentation on OhioSeis, and a hands-on session in the rock core repository. We will leave campus at 8 a.m. and return by noon.

This will fit in nicely with our focus on earthquakes and the knowledge we have gained from seismic study of Earth, as well as showing you what kinds of work survey geologists are involved in. Be sure you don’t schedule anything else before class that morning!
