OWUCO consists of 32-36 members and performs two concerts during the academic year, one each semester. The orchestra is open to all qualified OWU students (string, woodwind, brass, and percussion) by audition.
Join the Chamber Orchestra
Prior performance in an orchestral setting is typical for our musicians. However, a few passionate members have utilized OWU’s private lesson program (and a lot of practice) to become meaningful contributors to our performances. In short, we have a spot for all dedicated students who want to make music: entrance into the ensemble for winds, brass, and percussion will be limited to the instrumentation needed.
Auditions will be held in Presser Rehearsal Hall (the rehearsal space within Sanborn Hall where Chamber Orchestra will rehearse) on January 15th from 11 AM to 1 PM in Presser for new members regardless of major and all strings for the purpose of seating.

Please prepare two examples of your performance ability:
- A short lyrical excerpt that demonstrates tone quality and melodic expression.
- A short technical excerpt that demonstrates range, rhythmic facility, articulation, and fast passage dexterity.
