Mezzo-soprano Crystal Behan is a devoted voice teacher with an active profile in the central Ohio area. As a soloist she has premiered works at the Port Clinton Performing Arts Festival, in Handel’s Messiah under the direction of Peter Stafford Wilson, and art song collaborations with OWU faculty. She holds a M.M. in Vocal Performance from The Ohio State University and a B.M. in Vocal Performance from Hope College, having studied with Dr. Robin Rice, Eileen Davis, and Margaret Kennedy-Dygas. Crystal has performed in numerous operas, operettas and musicals, from Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea at OSU to Southern Ohio Light Opera’s production of The Gondoliers. From 2005–2011 she was an active member of the Opera Columbus professional chorus and also performed with their Education and Outreach program.
