The interdisciplinary Pre-Theology major prepares students for graduate theological studies or to specialized ministries.

About the Major

Pre-Theology majors gain the full benefits of a liberal arts education at Ohio Wesleyan. The major is interdisciplinary and requires you to take courses in a variety of academic fields, including: psychology, sociology/anthropology, and the humanities.

You will be required to take a total of five religion courses with at least one in the following areas: biblical studies, society and religion, and history of world religion. In addition, you must take five psychology, sociology/anthropology; with at least one in each department, two humanities courses, and a capstone. You have the opportunity to take up to two classes at the Methodist Theological School in Ohio, giving you an opportunity to experience seminary school before you graduate OWU.
