Jill Becker is a Lecturer in Dance at Ohio Wesleyan University, specializing in integrating experiential anatomy/somatics with dance technique, improvisation and composition. Living in Yellow Springs, she also teaches dance to people with Parkinson's Disease and to young children. Choreographer’s Fellowship and Artists Fellowships through the Community Arts Partnership (Ithaca, N.Y.). She directed the Dance Program at Antioch College from 2001­2008 and directed Jill Becker and Dancers, Inc. in New York City from 1980 ­ 1986. She has toured extensively in Holland, Germany, and North America with Portraits of Women, a solo evening of dances about contemporary and historical female figures. Becker holds a BA in Dance from the State University of New York at Brockport, an MA in Performing Arts from American University in Washington, D.C. In June 2016 she presented a workshop, Delicious Movement, at the Body Mind Center Association Conference in Montreal, Canada. The focus was on using anatomical connections and the video Twins Who Don't Know They Are Born as a springboard for spontaneous duet choreography. Becker was the recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts
