Honoring Our Alumni

Over the years, Ohio Wesleyan has defined ways to recognize and honor its outstanding former students. By bestowing these awards on our most amazing alumni, we say "Thank you!" for adding to the ever-increasing caliber of graduates who have walked across campus with an OWU diploma in their hand.

Distinguished Achievement Citation

Byron Pitts ’82, journalism major, is recognized as an award-winning broadcast journalist, author, and inspirational leader. His many credits include reporting for CBS Evening News, 60 Minutes, ABC News, and Nightline.

Young Alumni Award

Kathryn “Katie” Schlaudt ’10, a Spanish and French double-major, is recognized as a dynamic and diligent humanitarian for works including helping HIV patients in Kenya.

Distinguished Achievement Citation

Andres Duarte ’65, geology and business double-major, is recognized as an adventurous, skillful, and adaptable business developer in the international marketplace.

Alumni Award

Kathe Law Rhinesmith ’64, politics and government major, is recognized for outstanding dedication and service to Ohio Wesleyan, including roles with the Alumni Board of Directors and the Board of Trustees.
