Alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends like you helped the OWU Fund reach a new milestone in giving this fiscal year, while outstanding endowment support continued to help ensure academic and institutional excellence for years to come.
I am humbled to share that your gifts resulted in $4.12 million in unrestricted dollars to the OWU Fund — $200,000 more to the University’s operating budget than in the previous year. New gifts and commitments for all purposes totaled more than $31.47 million in FY 2016-17.
Allow me to highlight just a few of the ways our donors expressed their support to Ohio Wesleyan this past year:
- Thank a Professor: Over 330 gifts were made in tribute to professors past and present.
- Donor gifts made possible the construction of two new Small Living Units (SLUs) – the Dittrick House and the Jim & Eilleen Dicke House – and a brand new Gillespie Honors House on Oak Hill Drive.
- City Challenge: In just 48 hours in April, competition between graduates by region resulted in $565,418 in gifts.
- The Class of 2017 broke records in class participation with 72% contributing to their Senior Class Gift.
Gifts like yours make the Ohio Wesleyan experience possible for today’s students and for generations to come. We could not do it without you. Thank you for your generous support.
