Class Notes – 1950-1959

Peggy Ashton Stratton '55 and her husband, John, were the 2022 recipients of the Kent State Tuscarawas Community Service Award, a recognition given to those who made the community and Kent State University at Tuscarawas (Ohio) a better place. The two have provided scholarship support and educational opportunities to students at local schools. (12/22)

E. Fred Carlisle '56 published The Lake Effect: A Lake Michigan Mosaic, a book on his experiences with Lake Michigan, as well as its aesthetic, emotional, historic, economic, and social effects. "It's that whole complexity, really, of what the lake is. To me, to other people, to societies, to economies, and to cultures," he says. The book is available from Mission Point Press and Amazon. Three living generations of an OWU alumni family that stretches back five generations gathered for this special photo, which also includes a potential sixth generation.
