DESCRIPTION:In the spring of 2022\, Dr. Andrea Colvin (WLC) spent three months of her sabbatical in Chile. During that time she visited south-central Chile\, in order to learn about the Mapuche\, Chile&rsquo\;s largest indigenous group. You are invited to come and learn about the current challenges that the Mapuche face\, the reasons for the ongoing conflicts with the Chilean government\, and the beautiful ways in which some communities are embracing their heritage and sharing their culture.
Professor Colvin will give an informational session on April 6 from 12:10-1 p.m. in the Milligan Room of Slocum Hall on behalf of the World Languages and Cultures Department to discuss this topic. Please join us to hear this informative talk.
