My Job Duties

“I am recreating the company’s forecasting file. This process includes automating the process of updating known volume needs, inventory levels, and running rates. Weekly updates to high company executives are made at the end of each week to visualize projects.

“I have also created marketing materials and FDA/ISO-approved labels for international products. I completed market research on competitors and macro indicators of historical and current trends whose results influenced strategic business decisions.”

My Favorite Moment

“My favorite experience has been working on a wide array of projects. It is exciting to be working on regulations of medical documents and trade compliance to redesigning the company’s forecast. I have also enjoyed the projects’ challenges as they have been something I have never previously encountered academically or professionally.”

Lessons Learned

“I have learned a lot about Excel in programming the forecasting file, but more importantly, that the lessons learned in the classroom are only a tiny fraction of what happens in a professional environment. I had to use my peers and hours of research to work on something I had initially had no idea how to complete.”

Why I Chose Ohio Wesleyan

“I chose to attend OWU because of its stellar faculty members and strong academic programs such as the Global Scholars and Economic Management Fellows programs. After sitting in ECON 110 with Dr. Alice Simon, I was very impressed with the caliber of the economics department.”

My Plans After Graduation

“I plan to obtain my M.B.A. with a concentration in finance from Southern Methodist University (SMU). I am still considering a career at the moment. I am open to all opportunities in strategic consulting and financial analytics.”
