“Applications of Plant Population and Community Ecology”

Dr. Miriti will address how the basic biology/ecology of plant populations and communities can be applied to targeted management. A common theme of her research questions is how the stationary habit of plants impacts interactions within and between populations. The talk will feature the work of her students in desert and prairie habitats, and will conclude with an outreach project designed to attract urban youth to ecology.

Dr. Maria Miriti is an associate professor in the Department of Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology at The Ohio State University.
