Over the years, Ohio Wesleyan alumni, faculty, and friends have established named endowed funds for scholarships, professorships, academic programs, and many other purposes. Today, Ohio Wesleyan's endowment comprises more than 1,290 individual funds, each one named and used in accordance with the donor's wishes.
Linda Mackey Stude '77 established the Linda Mackey Stude '71 Endowed Scholarship to support first-generation students.
Joan Kadlec '52 created The Joan A. Kadlec Scholarship to support a female student who has potential for academic success in the pursuit of a bachelor's degree.
The Marcia White Soldatos '77 Endowment was created in Marcia's memory by her husband Paul Soldatos, with additional contributions by family and friends, to provide annual support for students pursuing longer-term, culturally immersive travel abroad experiences in unconventional locations.
In honor and memory of Harry Kendall (Bud) Koeppel '29 and his wife, Mildred Faye Ratliff Koeppel, The Koeppel Family Endowed Scholarship was created by their children, including Jane Koeppel Parsons '61, to benefit students with demonstrated financial need.
Janet Rothrock '72 established The Janet Rothrock '72 Environmental and Biodiversity Studies Endowment to provide opportunities for students to engage in research, service, travel, or career experiences based on environmental sustainability or biodiversity.
Through her estate planning, Ethel Klotz Brown '52 created The Ethel Klotz Brown '52 Endowed Scholarship for students with financial need who are interested in majoring in education.
Douglas H. Dittrick, Jr. '55 created The George E. Daniels '55 Memorial Scholarship in memory of his classmate Col. George E. Daniels '55 to support OWU students from Morrow County, Ohio.
With leadership gifts from Douglas Dittrick, Jr. '55 and Jerilyn Bushong Mapes '87 and Christopher Mapes, OWU created the Jack McKinnie '54 Director of Strength and Conditioning Endowment to enhance the OWU athletics department.
