Join us next week for award-winning writer and cultural critic Kiese Laymon, author of the forthcoming memoir HEAVY, recently named a Fall 2018 Barnes & Noble’s “Discover Great New Writers” selection. On Tuesday, October 2nd from 4:10-5:30pm in the Bayley Room of Beeghly Library, Laymon will present a reading from HEAVY, a powerful and provocative memoir that explores what the weight of a lifetime of secrets, lies, and deception does to a black body, a black family, and a nation teetering on the brink of moral collapse. This event will also feature a Q&A and book signing.
These events are sponsored by the Department of English Poets & Writers Series, the Sagan National Colloquium, and the Department of Sociology-Anthropology.
