Dear OWU Community,

Today we kick-off our United Way of Delaware County annual campaign. Our workplace campaign is vital to the success of many initiatives and programs throughout our community that change the odds for many. Personally, I support United Way because I know they work together around a common vision and path along with the entire community to tackle serious and complex social problems from every angle.

The most assured way to create impact and change the odds is through donations. One pledge spread across many paychecks improves the lives of all ages. You can give through the Community Impact Fund, which supports more than 20 local organizations that rely on United Way grants to deliver their services, or target your gift to one of the United Way of Delaware County initiatives:

  • Supplies For Scholars
  • Imagination Library
  • Strengthening Families
  • Delaware County Hunger Alliance – The Delaware County Hunger Alliance funds OWU’s Cooking Matters
  • Delaware County Against Human-Trafficking Coalition
  • Women’s Leadership Network

There are several ways for you to make your pledge to this campaign:

  1. Online (first option) – For payroll deduction, please use the dropdown menu for the number of pay periods that you are paid. If unsure, please contact the payroll department.
  2. Online (second option) – Please note “OWU” in the employer line
  3. Pledge Form (PDF) – Please return to the human resources department by November 22.

By designating your donation to the Delaware County Hunger Alliance initiative, you can support Ohio Wesleyan’s Cooking Matters program, where OWU students in the OWU Department of Health & Human Kinetics (OWU HHK) deliver evidence-based programming to help combat food insecurity in the Delaware community. Cooking Matters is a program overseen by national nonprofit Share Our Strength, and works to end child hunger and obesity by providing the knowledge and skills for healthy eating to parents and families using a 6-week course focused on cooking, nutrition, and planning meals on a budget.

Thank you for all you do every day for Ohio Wesleyan University. And thank you, too, for your support and commitment to our community. Together with the United Way of Delaware County we are changing the odds for our students and neighbors.
