Issues impacting the quality of life in the Olentangy River watershed will be on the agenda at the 15th Annual Olentangy Watershed Forum, taking place Oct. 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Ohio Wesleyan University.

The Forum connects citizens and experts to explore topics such as preservation, water quality monitoring and outlooks for our future water quality.

The river serves as the drinking water supply for the City of Delaware, provides recreational relief from the urban environment and is an essential link for wildlife survival. The forum is for local residents, water resource professionals, township officials, landowners, and farmers who want to learn about water quality issues in the Olentangy Watershed, progress that has been made, and challenges that lie ahead.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Ryan Pilewski: Greenspace Planning in the Olentangy
  • Jason Kentner: Visioning for the Olentangy Watershed
  • Dr. John Krygier: Delaware Run Restoration Project
  • Sami Spiezio: American Kayak Association’s Views of the Watershed
  • Plus reports from the Olentangy Watershed Coordinators, Del-Co and Preservation Parks.

The forum will take place on the third floor of OWU's Merrick Hall, located
one building west of 50 S. Henry St., Delaware 43015. Parking is available in the Selby Stadium Lot, located nearby at 45 S. Henry St.

The Forum is free to attend, but registration is required. Seating is limited to 70, so walk-ins
will be accommodated if space is available. Lunch will be provided. Participants can also expect a short walking tour to the proposed Delaware Run Restoration site.

Pre-registration is requested by Monday, Oct. 1. For more information or to register, please contact Erin Gibson at egibson@delcowater.com or 740-548-7746 ext. 2221.
