Ohio Wesleyan University's Department of World Languages & Cultures invites everyone to a free, one-woman, cabaret-style play, "Historias amorosas no tan ejemplares (Love Stories Not So Exemplary)," exploring stories of love and horror.

The play, performed in Spanish, stars Mexican actress, producer, and theater educator Paola Izquierdo and is based on the novels of 17th-Century writer María de Zayas y Sotomayor.  Izquierdo will perform at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 22 in Jemison Auditorium inside Ohio Wesleyan's Sanborn Hall, 25 Elizabeth St., Delaware.

Izquierdo's Ohio Wesleyan performance will be introduced by Erin Cowling, Ph.D., of MacEwan University and Lorena Rojas of Western University, both based in Canada. It will be followed by a roundtable conversation, moderated by Natalia Soracipa of the University of Calgary.

"Historias amorosas no tan ejemplares" is presented in collaboration with Ohio Wesleyan students enrolled in the "Women and Power in Early Modern Spain" course taught by Glenda Nieto-Cuebas, Ph.D., who organized the event.
