While raising the children, the family skied and sailed. Later on, she loved reading and knitting. Bernard Murchland, of Delaware, OH, June 24, age 96. He was a professor in OWU's philosophy department from 1967-2010, serving as department chair and later professor emeritus. He was predeceased by wife Joan O'Neill Murchland '83. Bernard is survived by daughters Suzanne Murchland Luecke '88 and Rebecca Murchland '92.

Dick Smith '05 (honorary), of Delaware, OH, July 1, age 101. He was a professor at OWU from 1950-2014, as well as the namesake of OWU's annual Smith Lecture Series in Civil War history.
