We'll help match you with opportunities that fit your schedule and expertise.
Alumni Mentor: Students are paired with Alumni in a variety of mentoring programs, career conversation opportunities, and shadowing. (Time commitment: varies)
Alumni Partners: Serve as valuable resource for students and fellow graduates, offering career insights and expertise through one-on-one mentoring, networking events, classroom presentations, resume reviews, and virtual engagements. As an Alumni Partner, you'll be listed in our directory and contacted for opportunities that match your experience and availability. (Time commitment: varies)
Internship/Externship Host: Willing to host an OWU student. (Time commitment: varies)
OWU Near You Host: Bring local alumni together by selecting a venue and date for casual social gatherings in your area. Learn more here. (Time commitment: 3 hours)
Reunion Committee Member: Play a vital role in creating a memorable Reunion experience by personally connecting with classmates to encourage attendance and giving, while building excitement for our signature alumni gathering. Committee members reach out to fellow alumni, help promote the event, and encourage participation in the Ohio Wesleyan Annual Giving Program. (Time commitment: 10-12 hours over 5-6 months)
There are a variety of ways through which you can serve as an Admissions volunteer to help recruit and connect with potential OWU students.
Postcard Writing: This occurs three times per year (Sept/Jan/Apr) and it typcailly takes a volunteer 5 minutes/card. You can select to write postcards over 1 month or any combination of all three.
Swag Delivery: Volunteers deliver OWU branded swag items to prospective students. This typcailly tales place every March and requires 2-5 hrs depending on the number of deliveries.
College Fairs: Represent OWU at college fairs in your area. (Time commitment: 2 hrs per fair, Fall/Spring)
Class Leader: Encourage your classmates to give to Ohio Wesleyan. (Time commitment: 1 hour per month)
Team OWU: Advocate and educate for Team OWU in support of OWU Athletics. (Time commitment varies)
We Are OWU Crew: Serve as a peer connector/motivator for OWU's day of giving. (Time commitment: 6 hours over 2 months).
