About the Council

The Alumni Council for Fraternity & Sorority Life (AC FSL) at Ohio Wesleyan University engages FSL alumni in meaningful ways—supporting chapter advisors, fostering alumni connections, and promoting the long-term success of FSL. Together, we advocate for the value of FSL and help shape its future at OWU.

What We Do

Celebration Team

The Celebration Team is dedicated to honoring excellence and fostering meaningful connections within our alumni FSL community. Our primary focus is the administration of the prestigious David Hamilton Smith Award, managing the recognition cycle from soliciting nominations, through reviews, and culminating in a formal reception for the recipients during Homecoming & Family Weekend. 

Beyond accolades, we champion a spirit of service during Reunion Weekend in May, where we lead a project dedicated to writing heartfelt notes to senior citizens, bridging generations through the power of a kind word.

Education Team 

The Education Team is dedicated to empowering FSL alumni advisors and fostering a culture of continuous growth through professional development and advocacy. We facilitate specialized Advisor Workshops, including virtual "deep dive" conversations that tackle the most pressing hot topics in fraternity & sorority life.

In the spring, we support the celebration of International Badge Day—a joint effort with undergraduate FSL leaders that highlights our collective impact and honors the timeless sentiment that fraternity and sorority life is "not for four years, but for life!"

Marketing & Membership Team 

The Marketing & Membership Team serves as the primary voice of our organization, ensuring our brand remains vibrant and our community stays connected. We manage our digital presence and produce targeted marketing materials designed to educate parents on the lifelong benefits of Fraternity & Sorority Life.

Strategically, we oversee the entire membership lifecycle, driving a recruitment plan aimed at ensuring every alumni chapter is actively represented within the AC FSL. Beyond recruitment, we are dedicated to strengthening our internal culture through bonding and networking events, creating a supportive environment where our members can thrive together.
