Chappelear Drama Center | Studio Theatre

Ohio Wesleyan University’s Sisters United will present its fourth annual performance of Yetta Young’s play “Butterfly Confessions” at 7 p.m. Feb. 25 in the Studio Theatre inside Chappelear Drama Center, 45 Rowland Ave., Delaware.

The group’s free performance will conclude with an audience discussion led by Kat Blaque, a well-known feminist YouTuber, writer, illustrator, and animator from California. As a black transgender woman and survivor of rape and sexual assault, Blaque works to advance national conversations tied to issues of social justice.

Young’s “Butterfly Confessions” has been described as “a love letter to women of color” as it blends humor and heartbreak with empowerment and inspiration to educate viewers on issues including domestic violence, HIV/AIDS, overcoming adversity, and more. Created and conceived by Young, the play is a collective effort with 12 contributors and is intended for mature audiences. Learn more at http://butterflyconfessions.com.
