Ham-Wil | Bishop Cafe

OWU’s Hispanic Film Festival presents a free screening and discussion of “Pelo Malo” (“Bad Hair”), in the Bishop Café in Hamilton-Williams Campus Center, 40 Rowland Ave., Delaware. A 9-year-old boy’s obsession with straightening his hair creates homophobic panic in his hard-working mother. (PG-13.) This year’s Hispanic Film Festival is supported with a grant from Pragda, a New York-based cultural initiative, and by the Office of the Secretary of State for Culture of Spain and its Program for Cultural Cooperation with United States Universities. The festival is co-sponsored by Ohio Wesleyan’s VIVA Latinx student organization, World Languages & Cultures Department, Global Studies Institute, Latin American Studies Program, and new Film Studies Program. Admission is free. For more information, contact faculty member Andrea Colvin at arcolvin@owu.edu.
