Prize-winning Civil War author Joan Waugh, Ph.D., professor of history at the University of California, Los Angeles, discusses "U.S. Grant: Soldier and Statesman." Waugh is the author or editor of books including “The American War: A History of the Civil War Era,” “The Memory of the Civil War in American Culture,” “Personal Memoirs of U.S. Grant: A History of the Union Cause,” and “Unsentimental Reformer: The Life of Josephine Shaw Lowell.” Her presentation is Ohio Wesleyan’s 2017 Richard W.
