The Ohio Wesleyan Athletic Hall of Fame was created in 1961 through the efforts of the Alumni “W” Association to honor those athletes who have achieved exceptional distinction at the University and to perpetuate the life and legends of those who have given the Red and Black a most remarkable athletic heritage.

The Robert Strimer Honor Award recognizes graduates of Ohio Wesleyan University who have made outstanding, widely recognized, and sustained contributions to the field of athletics.
The George Gauthier Award honors graduates of Ohio Wesleyan University for exemplary, widely recognized, and sustained contributions to the Ohio Wesleyan athletics department, as an undergraduate on the playing fields, in the classroom, and as an alumnus providing lifelong support, interest, and leadership.
