DELAWARE, Ohio – Ohio Wesleyan University's Department of Performing Arts will present five performances of William Shakespeare's infamous and iconic "Macbeth," beginning Oct. 30.

"The Tragedy of Macbeth" is a tale about a Scottish General and his wife, who convinces him to use whatever means necessary to take the kingdom's throne.

Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 30-Nov. 1 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 1-2 on the Main Stage of Ohio Wesleyan's Chappelear Drama Center, 45 Rowland Ave., Delaware. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $5 for senior citizens, and free for Ohio Wesleyan students and employees at owuperformingarts.ludus.com.

Ohio Wesleyan faculty member and 2005 OWU graduate Bradford Sadler, MFA, will direct the university's production of "Macbeth."

"This is a timeless tale from Shakespeare about ambition, human frailty, and how we treat each other in the world," Sadler said. "In our production, we're examining this script from a new perspective, one that I hope surprises audiences by allowing them to think critically about the world around them. Also, the opportunity to present a show that deals with the darker side of human nature so close to Halloween has made this a wonderful opportunity for our students."

The play contains adult themes and is not recommended for young children. For more information, visit owu.edu/PerformingArts or call the box office at (740) 368-3855.
