We solicit and encourage nominations from the Ohio Wesleyan University community (faculty, trustees, alumni, and students) of possible recipients of an honorary degree. If awarded, such degree would be conferred sometime in the future, including but not limited to our next commencement ceremony.

Honorary degree candidates may be eminent people in their respective fields or people who have contributed importantly to the betterment of our world. Nominators are encouraged to indicate how degree candidates might be engaged with the Ohio Wesleyan community in the future.

Nominees should reflect in a significant manner the highest ideals and character of Ohio Wesleyan's academic and human traditions. Especially welcome are candidates who are both preeminent in a particular discipline or professional field and who show unusual skills, human qualities, and accomplishments.

Use the online nomination form to submit your nomination to the Office of Academic Affairs. For consideration, accurate addresses for the nominee must be provided by the nominator. Current and complete information regarding nominees will enable the committee to evaluate each candidate fully and properly. If you have previously submitted a name or nominated someone who was not selected, you are welcome to resubmit now, although nominees will not be considered without a new and updated nomination form.

The Academic Affairs Committee on Honorary Degrees will evaluate all nominations, after which a proposed slate will be presented for a vote by the full faculty and the full Board of Trustees.

Thank you for participating in this important process.
