2016 Homecoming & Family Weekend

Ohio Wesleyan Welcomes Cherished Alumni, Family, and Friends Back to Campus

The sun was as bright as the smiles at Ohio Wesleyan University for this year’s Homecoming & Family Weekend celebration, Oct. 7 to Oct. 9.

The weekend kicked off Friday with an alumni-student networking event, a parent-faculty reception, the Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony, and much more.

On Saturday, the Battling Bishop football team and cheerleaders led the celebration from Hamilton-Williams Campus Center to Selby Stadium, where everyone enjoyed a tailgate party, mascot selfie station, the OWU Pep Band, and plenty of fun and excitement.

Seniors Shaaref Shah and Paige Springhetti were crowned Homecoming King and Queen during the game, and fans cheered as the OWU football team came out on top in the fourth quarter against Kenyon College with a final score of 25-15.

Other weekend victories were claimed at home and on the road by the OWU women's field hockey, soccer, tennis, and volleyball teams and by the men's soccer team.

The weekend festivities included an outdoor concert by Seattle's indie-pop band Cardiknox, resulting in Stuyvesant Hall being splashed with light-show colors.

It was a great weekend to be a Bishop! See the excitement in our 2016 Homecoming & Family Weekend photo gallery!
