Students Share Summer Experiences on OWU Snapchat

Snaps for these adventurous Ohio Wesleyan students!

Trasina Diazmunoz ’17 is studying the Mediterranean Diet in Italy, and Allyson Wojnoski ’18 is working on NASA-supported research as part of OWU’s Summer Science Research Program.

Both are sharing their adventures this week on OWU Snapchat. Diazmunoz previously hosted a Snapchat takeover, sharing what she and 15 other Bishops learned during a bread-baking, wine-making, cheese-filled day tied to their studies at The Umbra Institute in Perugia, Italy, with OWU Health and Human Kinetics professor Christopher Fink.

Trasina Diazmunoz ’17 hosted the second "ohiowesleyan" international Snapchat takeover from Italy.

On Thursday, June 9, Diazmunoz will host a second takeover featuring a trip to a local market.

Meanwhile, back in Ohio, Wojnoski is sharing her Summer Science Research Program (SSRP) experience on Snapchat this week and will resume her takeover Friday, June 10, after Diazmunoz’s day in Italy.

Allyson Wojnoski ’18 shares her Summer Science Research Program experience on Snapchat.

Wojnoski is a French and Biology major who says her favorite place on campus is the Science Library. She is working with Botany/Microbiology professor Chris Wolverton this summer on his plant-and-gravity research that is being readied for a space shuttle launch. Wojnoski says her lifetime goal is to consume less and encourage others to do the same.

“Water issues, pollution, and the American desire to always have ‘more’ are issues I would like to work on,” she says.

At OWU, her “home away from home,” Wojnoski also is involved in the Modern Foreign Languages student board, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Terpsicorps, and Orchesis.

Diazmunoz is a Studio Art major and Classics minor. She plans to work in fashion photography in the future, saying she’s “always loved photography ever since I was a kid!” Diazmunoz also is the vice president of membership for Delta Delta Delta.

“I have already fallen in love with the Italian culture in my short time here as it is very similar to my own,” she says. “I’ve really enjoyed learning about the Mediterranean Diet!”
