OWU Connection Experience: Internship working as a product marketing manager for Los Angeles, California-based Movement Genius

Singh recently completed a 13-week remote internship with Movement Genius, a digital wellness platform that provides live and on-demand classes to help people improve their mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Based on his job performance, Singh was invited to continue his internship during the summer.

My Responsibilities

“For this internship, I was responsible for managing the assets and ensuring the ads were running smoothly, monitoring the performance of the ads and reporting on the key metrics to the team, analyzing the ads of competitors and identifying what made them successful, and conducting research to identify keywords that competitors were targeting in their advertising campaigns.”

Building Skills

“This internship allowed me to analyze data and gain insights into consumer behavior, market trends, and the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns.

“It helped me learn how to handle huge amounts of data, optimize my marketing budget, maximize the return on investment (ROI), and develop strategies based on data-driven insights.

“This experience has also allowed me to enhance my problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, which will be valuable in my future career as a quantitative economist.”

My Favorite Moment

“My favorite part of the internship was the analysis of data and applying what I learn in my economics classes. Additionally, I believe that the strategies I put into place based on my analysis were directly responsible for the increase in revenue from the advertising campaign, which was a fantastic feeling of accomplishment for me.”

Lessons Learned

“I ran multiple regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and statistical inference, which helped me analyze the data and draw meaningful conclusions. Based on the results of my analysis, I was able to identify significant relationships between variables and make predictions about future outcomes with a certain level of confidence.

“I’m also doing this same thing in ECON 251, where we do regressions and analyze data to see which model is valid or not. Based on this conclusion, my other team member and I would divide and spend our marketing budget on different ads.”

Why I Chose Ohio Wesleyan

“I chose OWU because my older brother, Parampreet Singh, was at OWU, too, and I was awarded with a really competitive scholarship as compared to other universities I got in.” (Parampreet Singh graduated in 2022.)

My Plans After Graduation

“After graduation, I plan to get into investment banking or private equity to further develop my skills and make a meaningful impact.”
