Ohio Wesleyan Alumna Claire Everhart to Discuss 'The Case for Foreign Aid' on Sept. 24

DELAWARE, Ohio – Claire Everhart, Claire Everhart, political partner with the Truman National Security Project, will discuss "The Case for Foreign Aid" when she presents Ohio Wesleyan University's 2025 Corinne Lyman Lecture on International Studies.

A 2010 OWU graduate, Everhart will speak at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 24 in the Milligan Room inside Slocum Hall, 75 S. Sandusky St., Delaware. Her presentation is free and open to the public.

Everhart's career has focused on leveraging the private sector to finance development projects, including details with the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the House of Representatives.

Everhart is also president of the board of directors for On the Ground Global, a nonprofit supporting fair trade coffee farmers globally. Her work and personal explorations have taken her to 40 countries.

Everhart earned a Master of Science in International Public Policy from University College London and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Spanish from Ohio Wesleyan.

Ohio Wesleyan's Lyman Lecture Series is named in honor of Corinne Lyman, a retired OWU professor of politics and government. She created Ohio Wesleyan's International Studies Program in 1979 and chaired it for 20 years until retiring in 1999. Learn more about the program at owu.edu/InternationalStudies.
