OWU Mobile 3.0

Ohio Wesleyan University now has an advanced mobile app that enables students to log in to see grades, class schedules, and notifications. OWU Mobile 3.0 also allows faculty to see course schedules and rosters.

Chief Information Officer Brian Rellinger says the new app continues to offer previous popular features including campus news, video, photos, public events calendar, and more.

In addition to the personalized student and faculty information, OWU Mobile 3.0 also features an improved maps module that shows the location of all major campus buildings. It uses Google Maps, providing directions to the buildings, if needed.

Rellinger says he expects future versions to expand upon the app infrastructure and deliver information including account balances and, possibly, course registration. Rellinger says OWU Mobile 3.0 is available for download on all Apple and Android devices.

Freshman Shashank Sharma has downloaded OWU Mobile 3.0 and says he finds the app “quite convenient.”

“The app has a nice user interface and makes important things like classes and grades easily accessible,” Sharma says.

Junior Emma Goetz says she uses the app “at least four times a week, mostly for looking up emails in the directory or looking at my grades.”

“I find it especially useful when trying to remember the course numbers and grades I received in previous semesters,” Goetz says. “I would recommend it to my peers, especially the campus map portion to freshmen who may not know where every building on campus is yet.”

Since its 2011 launch, the OWU Mobile app has logged thousands of downloads by prospective and current students, faculty, staff, alumni, and those with an interest in OWU. The app allows all smartphone and tablet users to stay conveniently connected with the University at all times.
