More than 1,000 people celebrated Homecoming & Family Weekend Oct. 1-2 at Ohio Wesleyan University. This year’s events included the celebration of the successful Connect Today, Create Tomorrow comprehensive campaign.

A highlight of Celebration Weekend was the dedication of Bradford Milligan Hall, which honored campaign co-chairs and Trustees John F. and Kathryn Bradford Milligan, both Class of 1983. The dedication event also celebrated the renewal of Smith Hall and lead donor, Trustee Kara J. Trott, Class of 1983.

A new highlight was Friday night’s BishopFest, an all-community celebration of Bishops including music, food, and friendship.

The weekend also included the dedication of “Back Porch,” a sculpture by Andrew Wilson, Class of 2013. During the dedication, Morton V. “Pete” Smith Jr. received an Alumni Award for his outstanding and consistent service to OWU.

During halftime of the football game against Wittenberg, the crowd cheered on the 2020 and 2021 inductees into the OWU Athletics Hall of Fame. The 2020 and 2021 OWU Team of Distinction recipients also were honored. The Tigers defeated the Battling Bishops 24-23 with a field goal with :07 left in the game.

Men’s soccer picked up a North Coast Athletic Conference win over Oberlin 3-1 during Celebration Weekend.
